L&A Security Consulting Group, LLC is an independent, vendor-neutral physical security consulting firm based in Southeast Georgia and serving clients nationwide. We provide practical guidance in security risk assessments, system design and engineering, technology evaluations, master planning, specification development, procurement support, owner’s representation, project oversight, and system performance evaluation.

Many security projects begin with incomplete or outdated requirements that do not reflect current technology, operational needs, infrastructure limitations, or actual site conditions. L&A was established to help clients avoid these problems by clearly defining their needs before procurement and developing practical, performance-driven security solutions.

Josh Timms is an ASIS Board-Certified Physical Security Professional (PSP) with more than 20 years of hands-on experience in the security integration industry. His background includes the planning, design, installation, implementation, troubleshooting, and performance evaluation of video surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems.

Josh also holds a Georgia Low Voltage Unrestricted license. This provides valuable insight into installation practices, code requirements, network infrastructure, system integration, bandwidth and storage planning, commissioning, and the challenges that affect system performance in real-world environments.

Through L&A, Josh provides independent consulting that helps organizations identify vulnerabilities, establish security objectives, evaluate available technologies, develop clear project requirements, obtain consistent and competitive proposals, and protect their interests throughout the project lifecycle.

Josh’s cumulative experience spans nearly $90 million in security system projects across federal government, state and local government, healthcare, ports and transportation, education, utilities, commercial, industrial, detention, and critical infrastructure environments.

Through prior roles in security integration, Josh contributed to projects supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Protective Service (FPS), U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DoD), and other federal, state, and local government agencies.

His experience also includes projects involving organizations such as the Georgia Ports Authority, Gulfstream, Colonial Group, SCAD, St. Joseph’s/Candler Health System, U.S. Sugar, Kinder Morgan, and various state and county government agencies. This experience was gained through prior roles and provides L&A with a practical understanding of the security, compliance, reliability, and operational requirements found in complex, high-demand environments.

Based in Southeast Georgia, L&A serves organizations throughout Savannah, Augusta, Statesboro, and surrounding communities while supporting projects throughout the United States. Our experience includes government facilities, healthcare systems, ports and transportation infrastructure, educational institutions, utilities, commercial and corporate campuses, industrial facilities, and other critical environments.
